Sherry Bellamy heeft op 15, 16 en 17 november 2008 3 workshops gegeven in Leende. Hieronder treft je een beschrijving aan van de inhoud van de workshops.
Zaterdag 15 november
In this class we will explore the endless ways to use various types and shapes of metals inside a bead, often changing the shape of the 'inner glass' with mesh, and a bit of gentle persuasion. We'll create some Chaos! Some of the work we'll cover is:
Chaos, Big and Small - We'll begin with a smaller Chaos bead, using fine copper mesh, and discuss the specific techniques for this style. Once you're comfortable with the moves…you'll make a big Chaos bead, and I'll teach you how to use Chaos as an element in a dramatic design!

Silver Sirens - Layering silver foil with different colored glasses for a sophisticated, interior effect!

Miscellaneous Metal Madness - We'll also spend some time working with brass, fine silver mesh, and various foils that can be added to your glass creations, and I'll show you how to make some little "silver surprises", as well! We'll discuss how to integrate these patterns and designs into your work, and how the different colors of glass work (and sometimes don't work) with certain metals. Bring your questions!
Zondag 16 november
In this class we'll be doing some off-mandrel work, making components that we'll later add to our beads. This technique will hugely increase the scope of your designs, and you'll become comfortable with woking in "stages". "Pods" are floating shapes that drift within transparent glass, you'll learn to create them, using a special tool, and you'll learn how to make "impossible" designs with them as well!
We'll make beads in a variety of shapes, and explore some "non-bead" concepts as well.

Maandag 17 november
Shipwreck beads are a great way to bring all of the techniques that you've learned together, in these beads, creativity reigns! You'll learn how to create a harmonious seascape without really trying; by layering colors and building a design from the ocean floor up. We'll discuss how to use scale in your designs, and how to shape your bead to use your ideas to the greatest advantage.
